Gary Veloric is a creative dealmaker, noted financial whiz and serial entrepreneur.

A third-generation entrepreneur, Veloric’ s professional and financial fingerprint can be found across industries spanning investment banking, finance, healthcare, insurance, technology, real estate, hospitality, sports, entertainment, media, and music. Proficient in more than 50 areas of finance, Veloric during the past four decades founded, owned, shaped, or reshaped nearly 100 major businesses, including as the chief architect of structured settlements financing creating the first securitization.

Today, Veloric is the founder and CEO of Red Stripe Plane Group, a platform that provides financial and intellectual capital to entrepreneurs and companies of all sizes. Launched in 2007, Red Strip Plane Group had a front row seat in the proliferation of the internet through companies in the music, technology and streaming industries, making him an expert in disintermediation and brand fragmentation. He uses his innate instinctual abilities and deep cross-sectional knowledge of business, finance, brand, and market trends to follow a trail of opportunity to disrupt the status quo primarily in the real estate, finance, entertainment, technology, and the hospitality industries.

Prior to starting Red Stripe Plane Group, Veloric co-founded J.G. Wentworth, a specialty finance company that grew from a small Pennsylvania-based merchant banking firm started in 1992 into a trailblazing, publicly traded national brand for purchasing structured settlements and still dominates the industry today. During a 16-year tenure with the company, Veloric served as J.G. Wentworth’s Chief Strategist, innovating many unique transactions, and creating the capital structure that enabled the company to fund its business solely from the debt capital markets.

Veloric began his career out of college in 1983 at Geriatric & Medical Companies, a publicly traded long-term care company founded by his entrepreneurial-minded father. There, he held various senior financial, managerial, and strategic positions implementing frequent distinctive transactions to support the company’s multiphasic organizations. He also served as a member of the Board of Directors.

Veloric has also served on the Board of Directors of MusiCares, a foundation of the Recording Academy, (2008-2014) and its Secretary Treasurer (2011-2013).

Veloric is a 1982 graduate of American University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in finance & accounting. He is a founding member of American University’s Kogod School of Business Advisory Board, and he holds the Dean’s Award for Business from the university. His alma mater awarded Veloric an honorary degree of Doctor of Laws Honoris Causa in 2013.

He remains a devoted business mentor and continues to support the university that guided him on a path to success. In 2023, American University’s business school will launch The Veloric Center for Entrepreneurship to support and grow future generations of entrepreneurs with financial support from the Veloric family.
